What’s New in the Backyard?
Happy Spring!
While the weather still feels a bit chilly and gray, it is spring and we are already out planting ranunculus and hardy annuals. We had a wonderful winter and are ready for the excitement of spring flowers. We added a new flock of chickens to the garden. They will help manage pests when the plants and chicks get a bit bigger. There is a lot of planting, seeding, and planning going on every day and its a whirlwind for sure. I am also finishing up my new flower studio which includes a cooler space for even more flowers. Dividing dahlia tubers is up on the to do list and I’m excited to see how they did this winter in the new storage space. Happy Spring!
I am continuing my own education in native plants as I have found that building a thriving ecosystem and investing in the soil is integral to beautiful blooms. We are stewards of the earth and we are learning to work with nature rather than against its natural processes. Stay tuned for a very exciting project that is in the works!
